Dear Customers,
I hope this message finds you well. In light of the recent unfortunate events in Lebanon, we wish to inform you that all commercial airlines, with the exception of MEA, have ceased their flights to and from Lebanon until further notice. While some airlines have indicated they may resume operations after October 1st, this is subject to change as the situation develops.
Shipment Updates:
- Shipments that have not yet departed from origin:
- For some origins, there will be no storage fees or charges, as the shipments are already with the airlines.
- For others, we are communicating with agents regarding storage options for shipments still with the agents.
- From certain origins, there may be additional charges, but we are awaiting more detailed information from agents to provide a clearer answer.
- We will update you case by case on your shipments.
- Shipments that have already departed and are stuck at trans-shipment airports:
- There is no storage at the trans-shipment airports. But connecting flights are suspended and we are waiting airlines to resume their flights so cargo can reach beirut.
- As part of our contingency plan (Plan B), we are exploring the possibility of changing airlines or destination, should the situation worsen.
In circumstances where the MEA option is unavailable for a new shipment to Beirut, we may explore the possibility of transporting your cargo to Beirut via Dubai airport as an alternative solution.
Rest assured, we are actively monitoring your shipments, providing you with the latest updates, and exploring alternative solutions where feasible. We remain vigilant in monitoring the situation and will keep you informed of any developments accordingly.
We apologize for the inconvenience, as this situation is beyond our control. Please know that we are doing our best to find the most suitable solutions for you.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
Best regards,
ASL Lebanon
